The Eastern Cape traffic department says it is pleasantly surprised by the good behavior of motorists on the province's roads this Easter weekend.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says they attribute this to the high visibility of law enforcement agencies.
"So far in the Eastern Cape, things are going very well up to Saturday" Bramwell said.
"We only recorded two fatalities in motor vehicle accidents, and we had three pedestrians who were killed on the Province's roads. On Saturday afternoon, the roads were quiet, as most people were at their destinations" he said.
"Visible patrols, strict law enforcement and I think our presence on the roads this Easter weekend has been a deterrent to motorists" Bramwell added.
