A female Eastern Cape traffic officer has been killed in a horror accident on the N2 at Kinkelbos outside Nelson Mandela Bay.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
Department spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, said officials and counsellors were deployed to the scene to provide support to those who may have witnessed the accident.
He said their investigators will be looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson, Captain Marius McCarthy, said the 43-year-old traffic officer was declared dead on the scene.
He also said the truck driver was arrested and detained at Kinkelbos police station.
The name of the deceased officer has not yet been released.
