The Gqeberha man who allegedly murdered his wife, who was a well-known real estate agent, appeared briefly in the Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Colin "Junior" Kannemeyer, 57, allegedly killed his 61-year-old wife Cheryl at the couple's home in Beetlestone Road two days after Christmas.
According to an initial police report, Cheryl sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest and a laceration to her throat.
She had a rope around her neck.
Shortly after State prosecutor Melani Hammett asked that the case be postponed for further investigation, Kannemeyer raised his hand to get the attention of his attorney.
The matter stood down to give him and his attorney a moment to consult.
When the case was recalled, nothing from their discussion was placed on record.
Cheryl's family was present in court.
The case was postponed to 3 April for further investigation.
