Three men are expected to appear in the Ngqeleni Magistrates Court on Thursday in connection with a brutal vigilante attack which left a 32-year-old man dead.
Police Spokesperson Captain Mali Govender says the victim was accused of stealing and community members got hold of him for an interrogation.
She says he was assaulted during this time until he told them where he had hidden the stolen goods.
The man died at the scene.
Police again condemned the community for taking the law into their own hands and promised that more arrests would be made.
