A former pupil from Queenstown Girls High has taken to social media accusing the school of turning a blind eye to a teacher they have reported multiple times for allegedly having sexual relationships with learners.
The teacher who is named all over social is the coach of the first team Hockey and teaches life orientation.
The school's governing body issued a statement on Thursday noting the allegations stating that the matter was reported to the Department of Education.
The so-called whistleblower further alleges that the teacher was suspended from other schools for the same reasons and accused the school of ignoring it.
The Chairman of the School Governing Body at Queenstown Girls High, Lester van Schoor says while investigations into the allegations continue the teacher has been suspended.
He said parents would be given regular updates on the progress made in the investigation, stressing the importance of the safety of all learners.
The whistleblower said several students complained about the teacher but this had just been swept under the rug.
According to her, the teacher was reported to the vice principal at the beginning of the year but nothing had been done.
It is further alleged that he is dating matric learners and impregnated one.
