An Eastern Cape teacher appeared in court this week on a charge of statutory rape.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Ralph Motloung, says the female teacher from Matatiele, appeared in court on Tuesday.
He says she was granted bail of a thousand rand.
Lieutenant Motloung says the woman was arrested last Friday after a 16-year-old schoolboy laid a complaint.
She will be back in court on the 17th of June.
