Three Eastern Cape taxi drivers will appear in court in Queenstown on Monday on charges of murder and attempted murder.
The charges relate to an accident on N-6 outside Queenstown a week ago in which four people were killed and five seriously injured.
Provincial traffic department spokesperson, Tsepo Machaea, says "the taximen were allegedly chasing one vehicle" when the accident occurred on the road between Queenstown and Stutterheim.
He also said that the case is the first of its kind for them to be charged so seriously.
Machaea says the men will be applying for bail after appearing in court for the fist time last Thursday.
