Five suspects were arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning in a joint operation between Uitenhage farmers, members from the Uitenhage K9 unit and the Uitenhage Stock Theft Unit.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says farmers from the Wolwefontein area, hosted waylay duties on Wednesday night and notified the Stock Theft Unit about suspicious movement on a farm.
She says a team was immediately dispatched and roadblocks were set up on the Steytlerville and Hillwacht roads, in the Uitenhage area.
Swart says police noticed the suspect vehicle with the five occupants, and pulled it over.
The vehicle was searched and five sheep were found in the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested and will appear in court soon on charges of stock theft.
