A serial rapist has been sentenced to three life terms in the Bhisho High Court.
Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, says 39-year-old part-time mechanic and taxi driver, Sivuyile Ngqula, of Peddie, was sentenced by Judge Belinda Hartle on Tuesday.
He was arrested last January for a crime spree committed between 2014 and 2016 during which he raped and robbed several women.
Ngqula, who preyed on his commuters, also received a further 20-year jail term on rape and attempted rape charges.
Eastern Cape Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General, Liziwe Ntshinga, has welcomed the sentences.
