Eastern Cape police say preliminary investigations are being conducted into the rape of a 100-year-old woman.
Captain Jackson Manatha says a man was taken in for questioning in King Williams Town on Monday, but was released pending the results of forensic tests.
He says the partially blind woman was allegedly raped at her home in Holela Village last weekend.
Manatha says the victim's granddaughter noticed the suspect in her grandmother's yard when she returned home that evening.
