EC prison warden arrested for drug possession

A 38-year-old Eastern Cape prison warden is due to appear in court on Tuesday after he was arrested on Monday for allegedly being in possession of dagga.

Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, says members of the police's Grahamstown Highway Patrol stopped the suspect near Seven Fountains on Monday.

She says they searched his vehicle and found 12.7 kilograms of dagga. His car was also seized.

Govender says the prison warder was travelling from his home in King Williams Town to Oudtshoorn where he works as a prison warder.
