Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane says the police's operations aimed at eradicating gang violence in the Northern Areas of Port Elizabeth is showing good results, getting closer to silencing gunshots and end all criminal activities to keep communities safe.
Mabuyane's comments came after the police released information that four people were arrested for murder, five for attempted murder, nine for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and 32 for drug-related cases.
He says these results show what can be achieved all over the province when the Police, communities and other law enforcement agencies work together to fight crime and violence.
The Premier says the people residing in PE's Northern Areas deserve to be safe and protected from violence, committing his provincial government to continue protecting citizens from criminals.
