An Eastern Cape policeman is behind bars for gunning down his girlfriend following an argument.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate reported the shooting incident on Sunday but provided scant details.
Spokesperson, Grace Langa, said it's reported that the woman went to the policeman’s home in Motherwell in Gqeberha this weekend where she found him in bed with another woman.
She said an argument ensued and the policeman, who was stationed at Ikamvelihle Vispol allegedly drew his firearm and shot the woman six times.
Langa said he is due to appear in court soon.
