Eastern Cape police made a second big dagga bust this week.
A 50-year-old man was due to appear in court on Friday for being in the possession of 27 bags of dagga worth an estimated R500 000.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, said Komani police were following up on a tip-off on Wednesday when they pounced on two cars parked near one of the malls in the town.
He said one of the drivers managed to escape while the other man was arrested and the dagga seized.
This was the second major dagga bust in the province this week after several suspects were arrested near Bizana this week and 105 bags of dagga with a value of R2m seized.
Police also confiscated three vehicles that were being used to transport the dagga from Bizana to Kwazulu Natal where it was destined to be packed in trucks to be shipped to the Western Cape.
