Police are investigating a double murder, after two men, aged 42 and 43, were shot and killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in front of a tavern in Despatch on Friday evening.
Uitenhage police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli says it is alleged that at least one passenger in a white VW Polo fired several shots at the two men, who were standing in front of a tavern in Xolile Bottoman Street in Despatch.
He says one of the victims died at the scene, while the second man ran to the premises of a house opposite the tavern, where he collapsed and died.
Police are urging anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the nearest police station.
