Lusikisiki police members have been attacked by unknown suspects while responding to a business robbery in progress.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mduduzi Godlwana, says members were attending to a business robbery in Main Street earlier today when unknown suspects opened fire.
Godlwana says police fired back and a shoot out ensued.
He says one of the members, 30-year old Constable Zilungile Dubula, was shot in the upper and lower body.
The police member was taken to hospital where she is in a stable condition.
Police are investigating a case of business burglary and attempted murder.
No arrests have been made.
