An Eastern Cape man in his sixties has been admitted to hospital after being severely assaulted during a robbery on a farm in the Alexandria area.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, said the incident took place at approximately 09:00 on Saturday.
“It is alleged that the victim in his early sixties was attacked whilst in his home by two unknown males. He had been severely beaten,” Govender said.
She said the suspects fled in the man’s bakkie which was later recovered. “A .38 special revolver is believed to have also been taken,” she said.
"The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in a stable condition”.
No arrests have been made.
