An Eastern Cape man accused of killing his 65-year-old mother made a brief appearance in the Dutywa Magistrate's Court.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said 39-year-old Melikhaya Pamla was remanded in custody until next Wednesday for a possible bail application.
It's alleged that Pamla shot and killed his mother, Ntombi-zanele Pamla, on Reconciliation Dayy.
The motive for the shooting in the Keti Location near Dutywa in the early hours of Wednesday morning is still unknown.
Manatha said Pamla faces a charge of murder.
