Eastern Cape police have opened a culpable homicide case docket following a fatal accident on the N2 near Butterworth involving three vehicles.
Police spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha, said two bakkies and a car were involved in the collision near Zazulwana Junction on Thursday morning.
He said a man in his thirties died in the accident while nine other people, including women and children, were injured.
Manatha said that the cause of the accident is under investigation.
He said the identity of the deceased will be released once his family is officially informed of his death.
