EC man caught with dagga plants

Butterworth Police have arrested a 29 -year- old man for the cultivation of 66 dagga plants.

The suspect was arrested at Bawa Village near Butterworth on Tuesday.

Captain, Jackson Manatha, said police were alerted to the dagga fields at Bawa Villiage and swooped on the suspect.

The dagga plants are valued at R35 000.

Captain Manatha said the suspect is due to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday and that more arrests are likely to follow.
