Eastern Cape police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly killing his grandfather in Komani.
Spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni says according to information, it is alleged that the community alerted the police on Friday about a murder in Sizani Street, Mlungisi.
On arrival at the scene, police found a 90-year-old man in a chair covered with a blanket.
He had sustained a stab wound in the throat.
Mdleleni says the victim's grandson was taken in for questioning and following further investigations, police found that the suspect was responsible for murdering his grandfather.
He was arrested and will appear in the Komani Magistrate's Court on Monday.
