Eastern Cape police are investigating after two men who were helping another man change a car tyre, were mowed down by a suspected drunk driver on the N2 near East London.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, says the tragic accident happened early Sunday night.
He said three men were assisting each other to change the tyre when they were side-swiped by another vehicle.
Bramwell said two men were killed while the third man was not injured.
He said the driver of the other vehicle was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and will appear in court soon.
