A teenager and two men were killed when a school bus and a truck crashed on the N2 between Mount Ayliff and Mount Frere on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said.
A total of 62 people were injured, spokesman Captain Mlungisi Matidane said.
The school bus with 58 pupils and four adults was on its way to a music competition when a tyre burst.
"The driver was unable to control the bus and it collided head-on with the truck, before a van bumped into them.
A 15-year-old boy died instantly."
"Two men -- a bus assistant and truck assistant -- also died on the scene. Fifty-seven school children, the three drivers and two
other adults were injured."
