Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of arson after four children aged between three and 10 burnt to death in a shack fire.
Police spokesperson, major Zamukulingisa Jozana, says the tragic incident occurred in Matyibeni Location near Elliotdale late Thursday night.
He says the children were alone at home when the incident happened.
Major Jozana says neighbours tried desperately to save the children.
An inquest docket has also been opened.
