Five people have been killed in a head-on collision between a sedan and a truck on the R412 between Ugie and Mthatha.
The Eastern Cape Transport Department says the accident happened on Saturday morning just after midnight.
It says a truck from Ugie collided with a VW Polo.
All five men in the Polo Vivo were declared dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.
The department says the two men in the truck sustained no injuries.
It is alleged that speeding was the main contributing factor for the accident.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
