Eastern Cape police are appealing to the public for help in tracking down a father who has been on the run since November 2017.
Police said that 47-year-old Thanduxolo Mtshizana was arrested and charged for severely assaulting his biological children, aged between six and 11-years.
Police spokesperson, Captain Khaya Tonjeni, said he escaped from custody on 16 November, 2017, during his trial in the East London magistrate’s court.
“A warrant of arrest was issued, a manhunt was initiated but to no success. Police are following all possible leads. He was last seen at Sea Point, Cape Town,” he said.
Tonjeni said if anyone know the whereabouts of Mtshizana they should contact the East London Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit.
