Agri Eastern Cape is mourning the loss of one of its members in a farm attack near Nanaga in the Sarah Baartman District of the Eastern Cape.
Agri Eastern Cape issued a statement last night in which it named the deceased as Werner Buchner Senior.
According to the organisation, three suspects entered the home of Werner and Estelle Buchner on the dairy farm, Boslaagte at around 6.30 on Sunday evening.
The 55-year-old Buchner was shot and died on the scene while his son Werner Buchner Junior was also shot when the attackers entered the premises.
The suspects fled the scene with two cell phones and an undisclosed amount of money.
Estelle Buchner suffered two broken arms in the attack and was transported to the hospital along with her son who underwent surgery and is now reported to be in a stable condition.
Agri Eastern Cape reports that the suspects are still at large and that the SAPS dog unit and other statutory forces were deployed to assist in the search.

He says they are investigating a case of murder with additional charges of attempted murder and house robbery for further investigation.
