Police in Barkley East are investigating a case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a farmer was stabbed, allegedly by a disgruntled former employee.
Police spokesperson Captain Ursula Roelofse says that shortly after 8 pm on Thursday the 53-year-old farmer was attacked and stabbed by a worker, whom he dismissed earlier this week.
She says the farmer sustained injuries to his upper body and was treated at the nearest hospital.
The suspect is still at large but his arrest is imminent.
