The victim of a brutal farm attack in Hankey in the Eastern Cape last year is expected to share the gruesome details of the incident at a media briefing in Centurion on Tuesday.
The woman, whose identity has been shielded so far by court order, has already testified in the trial of 32-year-old Sibenzile Simane underway in the Port Elizabeth High Court.
He has pleaded not guilty to 17 charges that include attempted murder, rape, attempted rape, kidnapping, housebreaking, robbery, causing children to witness a sexual offence and the unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
During her harrowing testimony, the woman recalled the horrific four-hour ordeal during which she and her children were allegedly attacked and terrorised by Simane who tied them up and raped her twice, once in full view of her 12-year-old daughter.
In his evidence on Monday, Simane denied that he was behind the attack despite DNA evidence placing him at the Hankey farmhouse as well as at the scene of another house-robbery in Patensie in February 2018.
Tuesday's media briefing is being organised under the auspices of the organisation, Afriforum.
CEO, Ernst Roets, said that "the victim said to us that she wants to share her story. So, she will be coming and telling her story in quite some detail".
He said Afriforum will also "announce the latest farm murder statistics for 2019".
