Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal accident on the R72.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, said that the driver of a car was killed on Sunday morning following a head-on collision between two cars.
"The accident occurred at about 10.45 am between Alexandria and Kenton on Sea," she said.
She said the driver of the other was transported to hospital in a critical condition.
Govender said that the name of the deceased will be released once the next of kin have been informed.
The deceased was later identified as well-known Afrikaans singer, 51-year-old Jacques de Coning.
