Eastern Cape police have confirmed that one of the victims of Wednesday morning's double shooting incident in Quigney, was a female councillor of the Walter Sisulu Municipality.
Police spokesperson, Hazel Mqala, did not identify the woman, save to say that she was 29-years old.
The other shooting victim was a 54-year-old man.
Mqala says their bodies were found at Inverleigh Terrace in Quigney near the King David Hotel.
She said a licensed 9mm pistol with five live rounds were found at the crime scene.
Mqala says a murder and an inquest docket had been opened for investigation.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
