JOHANNESBURG, February 15 (ANA) - Police in Ngqamakhwe, Eastern Cape, on Thursday said they were looking for a hit-and-run driver after two schoolchildren aged eight and nine were fatally run over.
Captain Jackson Manatha said the two schoolchildren were crossing the R409 on Wednesday at about 3.15 pm when they were hit by a car..
He said the accident took place near Xume village.
"Sadly the learners passed away at the scene ... the identities of both deceased are still being withheld until all their relatives are officially informed of their deaths," said Manatha.
