An Eastern Cape policeman is one of four members of the police's search and rescue team that will be flying out to Nepal on Tuesday to assist in the search and rescue operation following Saturday's devastating earthquake.
He is Constable Songelizwe Kati Kati and his K-9 partner, Olive, are based in Mthatha.
They will be flying out of OR Tambo International Airport along with volunteers from the humanitarian organisation, Gift of the Givers.
The other police members are from KZN, Free State and Limpopo.
