EC constable in court for armed robbery

A policeman from Dutywa in the Eastern Cape has appeared in court on a charge of armed robbery.

Constable Phaphama Dyomfana and co-accused Khanyiso Matshoza appeared briefly in the East London Magistrate's court on Monday.

The two had allegedly robbed a business belonging to a foreign national in Oxford Street on Saturday.

Algoa FM News has learnt that Dyomfana also faces other charges involving a firearm.

The two are expected back in court on Tuesday.
