The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has welcomed president Jacob Zuma's announcement on massive spending on infrastructure development.
CEO, Kevin Hustler, says this can only have a postive spin-off for jobs.
He says the Chamber also welcomes the promised reduction in port tariffs which will assist the province's automotive industry as well as Zuma's engagement with Eskom on high electricity tariffs.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber has also welcomed government's aims of supporting further industrial and agricultural development in the province, as well as the focus on increasing the export capacity of the Eastern Cape.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the Border Kei Chamber of Business, Les Holbrook, says Zuma's speech was welcoming to the Eastern Cape.
He says the province tends to find itself in after-market mode in a lot of things, so the president's speech is something to look forward to.
However, Holbrook said its a question of implementation.
