The ANC in the Eastern Cape has commended the police action in arresting 10 people in connection with this week’s deadly attack on the Ngcobo police station in which five police members and a retired soldier were killed.
The governing party in the province said their arrest came after police received information that suspicious people were hiding at a “local religious cult church (Mancoba Church) at Ngcobo on Friday.
Seven suspects were killed and a policeman injured in the subsequent shoot-out which ensued when members of a police task team swooped on the property near the town.
“ The ANC is also calling on the community of Ngcobo to remain calm and let the law enforcement agencies carry out their duties,” the ANC said.
