Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for the gunmen who shot and killed a taxi driver in Peddie on Saturday morning.
This is the second fatal shooting incident of a taxi operator in the town this week after a 60-year-old man was also murdered.
In the latest incident police said that the driver of a taxi was on his way to the Peddie taxi rank around 7am when he was confronted by unknown assailants.
Police spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender, said that they opened fire, fatally wounding the taxi driver who has not yet been named.
She said the gunmen fled in the man’s taxi which was found abandoned at Chungwa.
