The Eastern Cape automotive industry will be well represented at this year’s South African Automotive Week, despite the fact that it will be held in Johannesburg and not Port Elizabeth.
The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) has organised a large exhibit at the tradeshow, and on the
conference programme, with the Corporation’s Willie van Heerden confirming that ECDC would use the opportunity “as a platform to showcase the significant automotive capability of the region”.
In addition, he said, ECDC would co-host an exhibition pavilion with the Coega and East London IDZs chambers of commerce and municipalities, among other key auto roleplayers.
The ECDC secured the rights to host the first three editions of South African Automotive Week in Port Elizabeth which it is projected injected over R120 million into the region’s economy.
