The municipal manager of the Senqu municipality in the Eastern Cape, Mxolisi Yowa, has been arrested.
Hawks spokesperson, captain Paul Ramaloko, says he was arrested with three other people on Tuesday on a charge of assaulting an investigator probing a fraud charge against him.
He says a department director, an attorney and the mayor's bodyguard were arrested with Yowa .. and they will appear in court soon.
The fraud investigation relates to a quote for rent and storage Yowa gave the municipality when he moved from Aliwal North.
