An Eastern Cape woman accused of smuggling cocaine in her dreadlocks to Thailand has been jailed for 15 years.
Nolubabalo Nobanda, of Grahamstown, was sentenced in Bankok on Monday morning.
The E-News Channel reports that her original sentence was 30 years but was reduced to 15 years because of her cooperation with the authorities.
Nobanda was arrested last December when police found 1.5kg of cocaine valued at R1.2m rand hidden in her dreadlocks.
She admitted to authorities that she had smuggled the drugs, and said she had been hired to deliver the cocaine to a customer at a hotel in Bangkok.
