East London youth electrocuted on illegal connection

East London police have opened an inquest docket after a 19 year old man was electrocuted while trying to make an illegal electrical connection.
Police spokesperson, lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku, says the unidentified teenager was found dead next to an electricity pole in unit 9 in Mdantsane on Sunday afternoon.
He says its alleged that the youth was trying to illegally connect power from a municipal electricity pole and was electrocuted in the process.
Police have cautioned residents about the dangers of illegal electricity connections.
