Police in East London are searching for one of their officers who has been reported missing.
Warrant Officer Zamelekaya Malandela (46) failed to report for duty at the East London Criminal Record Centre on Friday the 9th of December and he has not been seen since.
Police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Marais, says the officer's wife reported him missing earlier today. She said she saw him last on Saturday morning in Brittlewood Street, Braelyn in East London.
Marais says it was discovered that his private vehicle was broken into and there was no sign of Malandela. He was last seen wearing blue denim, white T-shirt, brown jersey and brown shoes. He has black and grey hair and moustache with brown eyes and has a scare on his left cheek.
He moved to East London from Cape Town just over a year ago and what is known is that he has a heart condition.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Malandela should contact 10111 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
