East London police seize 700-thousand rand's worth of dagga

East London police have seized dagga worth close on R700 000 on the N-2 outside the city.
In the first bust on Sunday, members of the city's K-9 unit arrested 3 men and a woman in a mini-bus taxi near the Komga turn-off.
Thirty Five bags of dagga with a street value of more than R580 000 was found in their possession.
In a second dagga seizure, police captain Stephen Marais says members of the city's highway patrol noticed a vehicle stopping some distance away on the N-2 near the Beluga turn-off.
There was one occupant in the vehicle that jumped up and ran away. Police then came across a consignment of dagga with a weight of 101kg with a street value of R131 300" Marais said.
