East London police have arrested a man wanted on six murders in Duncan Village.
Police spokesperson, Captain Steven Marais, says the 24 year old man was arrested this morning as he tried to flee from a taxi which was pulled over on the N2 outside the city.
He says the suspect leapt from the taxi into nearby bushes but was quickly caught by pursuing police.
Marais says the intelligence driven operation was carrie out by members of the Duncan Village police and detectives.
He says the suspect, who also faces charges of armed robbery, will appear in court soon.
