The Mozambican woman who was arrested by the Hawks last week for kidnapping, was denied bail in the Mdantsane Magistrate's court.
Sindiswa Ntshukane allegedly kidnapped 3-year-old Perfect Gift Msesiwe in August from her home where she was a nanny.
The 32-year-old woman allegedly took the girl to Mozambique and demanded a R500 000 ransom from the girl's family.
A week ago,in a joint operation between the Hawks and Mozambican police, the nanny was arrested in Gauteng.
She confessed to committing the offence and clues of the whereabouts of the child surfaced.
The child was formally reunited with her parents last week on Thursday in King William's Town at the provincial police headquarters.
She is facing charges of extortion, illegally being in the country, kidnapping and human trafficking.
Her first court appearance was last week on Monday briefly at the Vosloorus Magistrates court in Gauteng.
Ntshukane was remanded in custody and she will appear again in court on the 29th of this month for a possible plea or sentence.
