The Eastern Cape department of transport is crafting a strategy to rid itself of corrupt practices.
The department held its second "Anti-fraud, corruption and bribery summit" in East London on Friday.
Transport Regulations Chief Director Romilla Metume says the National Traffic Information System is plagued with fraud and corruption in licensing centers.
She adds that it has become common knowledge that some officers take bribes in cases of traffic laws being broken and illegal issuing of vehicle worthiness to be on the road.
Metume says the summit seeks to come up with an action plan to nab the corrupt officials.
