Police in Gqeberha are investigating a case of theft after a motorist filled up his car with petrol without paying.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the man drove to the Shell Garage at the Windfarm on the N2 shortly after midnight on Thursday.
She says he asked the petrol attendant to fill up the tank of his black Range Rover to the amount of R1 000.
Colonel Naidu says when the petrol attendant brought him the speed point machine he drove off.
The driver had a female passenger in the car.
A case of theft was opened at the Kabega Park Police Station.
