Police in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, have arrested 45 people in a 48-hour anti-crime operation.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said the crime blitz in Walmer township this week was conducted by SAPS crime intelligence ,Walmer Police, Public Order Police, PE K9 unit, the Tactical Response Team as well as local detectives.
She said they conducted cordon and search operations, netting suspects for crimes ranging from drug possession to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They will all appear in court soon.
Naidu said several firearms and ammunition as well as a SAPS bullet proof vest had been confiscated during the operation.
