Eastern Cape police have welcomed the double life sentence imposed on a man for the rape and murder of a woman in Nqamakwe in 2012.
Police say 22 year old Mandisi Lupuwana was given two life sentences for raping and killing 46 year old Nomabali Matshoba in a village near the town two years ago.
He was arrested days later for the murder of Matshoba, who was a teacher at Magwaza Junior Secondary School which is situated in the same village.
