Donations flow in for St Francis fire victims


Eastern Cape-based household goods brand, ThoroughFair, has donated a consignment of instant noodles to the families affected by the St Francis Bay fire, which has destroyed 70 homes.

BigFoot Express, ThoroughFair's logistics partner also delivered the goods free of charge to the disaster management team operating out of the St Francis Bay Golf Club.

Ross Penniall, Reginal Sales Manager at ThoroughFair said, "People were in need after this unforeseen tragedy. I'm just so glad our local company, ThoroughFair, was in a position to lend a helping hand in the way of food provision. We wish all the best for the families who have been affected by the fire."

Dion Naidoo from BigFoot Express said "It's great to be part of the team that is helping St Francis Bay residents that are in need, our condolences to families who have lost everything in the fire".

Nita Langenhoven from the St Francis Bay Golf club said "We are currently supporting 13 families who have lost everything, including families with kids writing their matric exams.

The Golf Club is acting as the distribution point for donations, and we have been amazed at the generosity of local businesses like ThoroughFair. Families come in daily to collect care packages and we are happy to be able to include some easy to prepare instant noodles into those now."
